Secret gigs with Dr Martens!

On Tuesday I was lucky enough to be invited to the secret gig launch night of the Dr Martens
store in Broadmead, Bristol. If anyone knows me well, they will know I live in my limited edition Hello Kitty Docs, which you can see above! They are by far the best shoes I've ever owned. They're still intact despite wearing them for almost 365 days in rain, snow, sun, mud etc. I wear them to all my shoots as I know I'll be able to climb onto things, or walk across crooked paths without slipping or falling. So when the little email popped up in my inbox there was only ever going to be one answer... yes!

The shop was seriously awesome, and I loved the mural behind the till that said "Cheers Drive!" such a nice Bristolian touch on things. I do have a small confession, despite being a massive lover of Doc Martens I was naive enough to think that all they sold were shoes and boots... Oh how wrong I was! Lined up around the walls and tables were some of the prettiest and wonderfully made satchels I have ever seen, so when the manager announced after a few beers that there was a lovely bit of discount off that evening I swiftly sent my mum a text asking if I could buy one on her behalf as a birthday present to myself, and when she replied saying yes I pretty much squealed and leapt in the air (luckily the band was playing so I didn't look too odd!)

I decided on going for this beautiful pink and black satchel that matched my shoes, the quality of it is fantastic, and I am seriously going to love using my bag all the time!

Next on my list of things to buy are these shoes, and also I'd quite like to own this pair too! Infact I'd quite like to own the whole store!

Will you be visiting the Dr Martens store anytime soon?

Bristol Fashion Week! #BFW

Just thought I'd post a quick blog about Bristol Fashion Week! This year the Mall at Cribbs Causeway are hosting a live blogging event which can be seen on there website here.
Anytime someone posts something with #BFW on Twitter it will automatically be added to there live feed, giving you a way to catch up with all that's going on if you can't make it, or want to see things from a different point of view.
You can also go online and watch a live stream at 4pm.
If you are lucky enough to be attending BFW then say hello! I'll be wandering around somewhere with my camera taking photos of the show and things happening, and if you're a fashion/style blogger and would like me to take an outfit photo for your blog please feel free to ask.

So, who else is going to BFW? Are you excited? Have you been before?

Xmas Blogger Party

I was invited by the lovely Gina @ MyStreetChic to take some photos at the first, but hopefully not last, Xmas blogger meet, sponsored by Boohoo.com. It took place on Friday at Java on Park Street, which was a lovely venue! The disco room was AMAZING and the ceiling was out of this world, although it didn't give the best light for photos :( But I persevered and got some good enough shots of the event!

The actual evening started at 7, guests were given a goodie bag filled with lovely treats ( I got one too!) and a free drink on arrival and had an hour to mingle and say hello before the fashion show started. I took this opportunity to photograph some of the lovely people there:

Kim (who had amazing DIY shorts!)

After that everyone made there way into the other room to watch the fashion show that was kindly put on by Boohoo.com. The models were smiling as were the guests and it was wonderful to photograph so many happy faces! I was having a bit of a tough time with the lighting, I desperately need better flash equipment (hopefully I win the lottery soon!) But like I said I tried my best and as it was my first time photographing an event of this nature I'm pleased with the outcomes!

I had an awesome time and spoke to some really lovely people, I would definitely love to go to another event, and hopefully get to talk to some more people. I've only had this blog for a couple of weeks but it was nice to meet some more bloggers!

It also helped me gain more confidence speaking to new groups of people and asking to take their photo, and hopefully next time I photograph something like this I'll have updated my equipment better to suit this kind of environment.

I hope you all had fun too, and thanks again to Gina for organising a wonderful event!
